Three New England Patriots stood out in the preseason opener against the Indianapolis Colts. Kyle Williams made his case in a crowded Patriots wide receiver room, including an impressive route and connection with Tommy DeVito for a touchdown. Kendall Vildor took advantage of his opportunity at cornerback, coming away with an interception as New England continues searching for reliable depth behind Christian Gonzalez and Carlton Davis. But Bradyn Swinson might have been my biggest takeaway. The second-year pass rusher made multiple impact plays, including batting down a pass on fourth down and generating pressure that helped create another Patriots interception. It’s only preseason, but Williams, Vildor and Swinson all gave New England something worth paying attention to.
